Forgiving Your Self

One of the first thing's that I recommend to my students I am teaching energy work to, is to forgive themselves. The harshest critic that you face day in and day out is your self. The energy of self criticism, fear and guilt can overwhelm and consume your thoughts. By releasing the old energy of the past and forgiving yourself you make it easier for you to not only bring in positive energy but it is much easier to stay grounded and live in the moment. Forgiving ones self does not happen overnight, be kind to yourself and take small steps that will lead you toward the person you want to be. Use your inner guidance and seek out books, workshops or seminars that can help you forgive yourself.

The following exercise will help you to open up to your issues that need to be forgiven, as you do so you release the energy that is no longer for your highest good by forgiving yourself.

I will use the example of some one age forty for this exercise, please substitute your age.
Write down a list of all the things you are self critical on, fearful of and any things you feel guilty about,from present day as far back as you can remember.These are the issues that you need to forgive your self for. Make four different categories by age as listed below. Take your time and really think about this over a week or more time period. Start adding issues to each category as they flood back into your memory.You will make your first list and most likely add issues as you open up and start the healing process.

From the ages of 1-10
From the ages of 10-20
From the ages of 20-30
From the ages of 30-40

1.    List all of the issues you can think of that have hurt you and you need to forgive.
2.    Write down the emotion or energy you felt. (Fear, guilt, anger, powerless,shame.)
3.    Write out the lesson you feel you have learned from them.
4.    Write, Yes or No - Can you thank Creator/Source/God for the lesson that you learned.
5.    Write, Yes or No - Can you now forgive yourself.

You now have two choices for every issue you listed.

 1. You can say out loud the issue  thanking Creator/Source/God for the lesson you have learned. Then state  I forgive myself and release this issue and all the energy associated with it for my highest good.

 2. You can write the issues out, thanking Creator/Source/God for the lesson you have  learned and forgive yourself and release all energy associated with this issue for your highest good.  {you can either burn or tear up the paper. }

Try this affirmation: I lovingly forgive my self and release the past now.

FORGIVING OTHERS

By forgiving others we release the energy of the past and take our power back.As you forgive others you are are opening up to your positive energy as a spirit.Through this act of forgiveness you are able to bring in positive energy that will allow you grow and experience in ways you have not even imagined.

The following exercise will help you open up and examine those people that have hurt you, and allows you to release the energy that is no longer for your highest good by forgiving others.

I will use the example of some one age forty for this exercise, please substitute your age.
Write down a list of the names of people that have hurt you in the past. Make four different categories by age as listed below. Take your time and really think about this over a week or more time period. Start adding names to each category of people who have hurt you in the past.You will make your first list and most likely add names as you open up and start the healing process.

From the ages of 1-10

From the ages of 30-40

1.    List all of the people you can think of that have hurt you.
2.    Write down the emotion or energy you felt. (Fear, guilt, anger, powerless, shame).
3.    Write out the lesson you feel you have learned from them.

You now have three choices for everyone you listed.

 1. You can say out loud the person’s name thanking them and forgiving them.

 2. You can write this person a letter thanking them and forgiving them.

      { You can either mail this letter or you can burn or tear it up }

3. You can call or meet with this person and thank them and forgive them.

Try the affirmation: I easily forgive all and release my past now.

This type of healing does not happen in one day, give your self time to process all of the information. Use your inner guidance and ask your guides for help in clearing out the old energy or emotions. Taking the time to really examine each step will help you release energy and emotions that have been trapped inside you for a long time. When running  your energy/meditation the energy of the past will be easier to recognize and become easier to release.
